Ouray County Fairground Insurance Requirements

General Insurance Information:
All users of the Fairgrounds must provide a Certificate of Insurance (insurance application and/or insurance policy may also be required) naming the County of Ouray, Ouray County, Colorado as ADDITIONAL INSURED and indicating the required coverage. Individuals must provide proof of insurance. Proof of insurance can be obtained from an individual's insurance agent or broker in the form of a current certificate of insurance on an ACCORD 27 Form. In some cases an individual's Homeowners Insurance Policy will provide the insurance coverage to satisfy the requirement of the Ouray County Fairgrounds.

Commercial users, corporations and other similar organizations who have employees working on the Fairgrounds (i.e. rodeo stock contractor, artist staff for concerts, carnival employees and trade show staff, etc.), must obtain Workers' Compensation and employer's liability insurance, which shall cover the obligations of the user in accordance with the provisions of the Colorado Workers' Compensation Act, as amended from time to time.

ALL INSURANCE CERTIFICATES must be submitted on an ACCORD 27 Form and contain a provision or endorsement that these policies may not be canceled, terminated, materially changed or modified without 30 days prior written notice to the County of Ouray. Such notice must be transmitted to the Fairgrounds Business Office by certified mail, return receipt requested. Evidence of insurance must be received by the Fairgrounds Business Office three weeks prior to event. If the required insurance certificates are not received as provided herein, the event may be cancelled without refund to the user in the sole discretion of the County of Ouray.

REQUIREMENT FOR EVENT WHEN NO ALCOHOL IS SOLD OR CONSUMED:
Organizations hosting events open to the public must provide liability limits of a minimum of $500,000.00 with limits increasing to $1,000,000.00 for professional rodeo events on a general liability policy or a package policy with general liability coverage. Events with meals professionally catered or arranged by the (user) organization shall require $1,000,000.00 general liability coverage per occurrence. If the Fairgrounds arranges meals with a professional caterer, the insurance responsibility falls on the caterer. All general liability insurance policies must have the County of Ouray, Ouray County, Colorado listed as ADDITIONAL INSURED.

REQUIREMENT FOR EVENT WHEN ALCOHOL IS SOLD OR CONSUMED:
Ouray County Fairgrounds provides for the alcohol service for all events taking place on the Ouray County Fairground; therefore, the insurance responsibility falls on Ouray County Fairground and Ouray County for general liability coverage. Additionally, a Uniformed Certified Colorado Peace Officer may be required to attend any time alcohol is consumed on the Fairgrounds.
